The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning appliances. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers can be a great option for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. They feature impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some wash and refill their mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mops then this is the model to go for.  robot vacuum cleaner amazon  than the other models on this list making it easier to navigate into tight corners and underneath furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of the best navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuums. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.

It's extremely quick and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw away debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by much. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into tight corners or along baseboards. Those same front arms can also be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and fallen books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't create the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and is effective however, it's something you'll have to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.

The device is equipped with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and intelligently. This will result in a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite quick.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching an array of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to remove odors and prevent buildup.

App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it should make, which will affect how fast the device will move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

The device is costly, but has many smart features. It is important to remember, however, that the device is subject to periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads should be changed every three months.

The robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and comes with a wide array of physical automation features. This includes an energy button that can also function as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning task. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who just wants a cleaner home without spending much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. It is a powerful machine with smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. It has two modules: a dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture many of the hair sheds from our cats. It even made it into the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots have struggled. It was quiet and even had some pleasant jingles that let you know when it was starting or finished its work.

The biggest flaws were its simple app and the requirement to switch out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app cannot save multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it has some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock, which doubles as a charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.

autonomous vacuum  has a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to toggle the child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you manually free it. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert in its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxy models.
